Hi guys,

I have been having internet problems for the past 2 weeks it is now getting on my nervs, is just this pc I am on at the minute I try visting certain websites and it doesn't even give it time to load it just says "problem loading page" I can only access this site as I am using a proxy. I have tried these websites that i can't access on other pc's and it works fine. Today I done a factory reset on the router and the problems continue. and even when on the proxy most sites don't work...

Any suggestions thanks,

These are probably some left-over problems from the virus you mentioned some time ago... It might be easier to reinstall than having to manually fix everything.

Anyway.

Check your hosts file.

I must be going crazy, I was sure you posted something about a virus like a month ago...

Check your hosts file anyway ;)

Without any infection... I experienced this about a week ago.. and it was intermittent.. seems to be some interruption in services..

EDIT: Try making sure you clear your cache files with a System Cleaner of some sort.. and make sure your browser is cleaning all files as thoroughly as possible.. Just tobe safe..

I see you have one entry. In my host file, on Windows 7, everything is empty. I'm referring to:

127.0.0.1 mpa.one.microsoft.com

since other text is commented anyway. Maybe you can try to remove that line. Make a backup before you do it.

Cheers ;)

that 127.0.0.1 mpa.one.microsoft.com belongs to a fix that prevents checking if Win is original or not.

I wonder if your DNS has any role to play here.

Did you try any utility recently that does changes to the system or the network?

Try flushing dns...

Open a command prompt and type this:

ipconfig/release

ipconfig/flushdns

ipconfig/renew

wait for each step to complete.

maybe you're infected with virus like Conficker(unable to update Kaspersky)

download Kaspersky Kido Killer

if cannot update, use Kaspersky Kido Killer

if you're using Vista/7,try use FixWin to resolve the problem
