By India Today Entertainment Desk: The recently released Christopher Nolan film, 'Oppenheimer,' has sparked mixed reactions among Indian fans. One specific scene in the movie, featuring actor Florence Pugh, left many shocked and amused. In the original version, Pugh's character was depicted naked. However, the Indian prints of the film have chosen to cover her up with a CGI black dress.

FLORENCE PUGH COVERED IN THE INDIAN PRINT OF OPPENHEIMER

In a scene from Nolan's recently released film, the audiences pointed out that Florence's character was wearing a black dress, which she wasn't actually wearing in the film. The particular scene involves Cillian Murphy's character, Robert Oppenheimer, meeting his former lover, psychiatrist, and physician Jean Tatlock, portrayed by Florence Pugh.

In this sequence, the two actors engage in a conversation while being completely naked. However, the prints released in India have altered the scene, ensuring that Pugh's body remains covered with a CGI-generated black dress to avoid any explicit skin exposure.

Warner Bros' Oppenheimer has reportedly practiced "self-censorship" in order to avoid any potential issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India. The film made certain adjustments, such as using CGI to cover nudity with a black dress, as a voluntary measure taken by the filmmakers and distributors. While the film received an "R" rating in the US, it obtained a U/A certificate in India.

According to the film's censor certificate, Oppenheimer only underwent two modifications. Firstly, an anti-smoking banner was inserted whenever necessary, and secondly, the word 'as***le' was muted and subsequently deleted from the subtitles.

Although Oppenheimer is experiencing immense success at the box office in India, it has also faced scrutiny due to 'objectionable' scenes. One particular scene features the characters portrayed by Murphy and Pugh engaging in a sexual encounter while he recites verses from the ancient Sanskrit scripture, purportedly the Bhagavad Gita. This sequence has sparked controversy on social media platforms.

Nuclear Fallout

Do they want to be the new Republicans?  How rubbish is their response?  OK, but a nuclear bomb, a genuine Nuclear Energizer Bunny, that is OK to show?
