Recommended Posts

i have an intel NUC i5-8259 cpu, 16gb ram

lately it just keeps either locking up, restarting, freezing or blue screening.

anyone one know whats going on here? over heating possibly??  but how to cool an intel NUC if it is??

it has been blown out, i have even reformatted it and same issues. both windows 10 and 11.

i have run memtest86 on it and no memory issues noted

One solution is try upgrading the bios and change the temperature threshold in the bios setting for memory.

This is from my practical experience on NUC8i3BEH

Does its BIOS have a PC Health page showing temps, voltages, etc?  Might be worth monitoring that for a while and compare temps with room temp.

That it ran (and passed) a memtest is encouraging.

Google searches for “nuc processor thermal trip” and “windows machine check exception” may give some ideas.
