NewsWe are always going to be up to date with IPS system in order to insure our beloved forums run on it bests speed, performance, secured, and latest technology, but there are a few important changes have been made and new features with IPS 4.6.

We will start with the new features.

New feature Web push notifications:

What is Web push notifications ?

Web push notifications allow users to opt-in to timely updates from nsane.forums, and allow you to effectively re-engage them with customized, relevant content. Moreover, it all happening while you aren't even opening the browser on any devices you wish to use.

How to enable Web push notifications ?

Simply go to Account Settings > Notification Settings, and then scroll down to the end of the site till you see Notification Types Available.

https://nsaneforums.com/notifications/options/

You will see this

After successfully enabling it on the browser you are using, you will see it turned to green and changed from Enable to Enabled. Now you must pick what's important to you to receive as web push notifications by going scroll up to notification settings.

Now picking what you would like to receive as web push notifications wherever it's available.

Remember that web push notifications will be using the browser cookies, so whenever you clear your browser cookies you must enable this setting back and pick what you would like to receive as web push notifications or using a new device or another browser that you don't use.

New feature Native Sharing:

In here anywhere you see the share button you will see a new button "more share options"

Now you can share it anywhere even with any applications you are using on your phone such as WhatsApp etc..

New feature Offline support:

For the users whom using mobile devices for most of their browsing comes the problem of patchy phone signal and internet connections dropping out, and now in order to notify you about that you will present a branded offline page whenever you have no internet connection and trying to access nsane.forums.

New feature Achievements:

Old ranks system has been removed and been replaced with new Achievements system. The new Achievements system will have badges and ranks, but we haven't enabled it yet. It does require a lot work, and some graphics to design the badges. We will announce everything about it whenever we are ready.

New feature Content View Behavior:

https://nsaneforums.com/settings/links/

This new feature which I personally love will simply change how you want to view a topic by what do you want to happen when you click a topic link? Are you taken to the first comment, the last comment or the first comment you've not read?

Changes in 4.6

The only thing I have noticed that IPS changed in 4.6 is one thing.

Member's Signature:

Member's signature has moved to account settings instead of the old place in the profile, so now you have to go to your account settings in order to modify or create one.

@MattAfter the recent upgrade, In IPS Default /IPS Default Dark Theme, the top sticky nsaneforums logo bar is big & would be a hindrance when scrolling/pg up-down the page. In previous IPS version the sub menu bar was sticky & was helpful to navigate to these:

However, Nsane Style doesn't have any of these sticky bar when scrolling.

Hope that this would be fixed soon!

@vissha those modifications were my work on IPS Default and IPS Default Dark Theme, and I see having your notification, messages etc.. is more helpful.

IPS Default logo was bigger than the one in IPS Default Dark by dimension only, and I just changed it to the same dimension used on other themes. Moreover, the logo now is using WebP formatting, and the size for the logo is just 4kb and won't hindrance whenever scrolling the page up-down.

I understand. However, Why not show only when scroll-up? In smaller screens, it's just reduction in visibility of the page. Also, the top bar shall be of the same width as you did with announcement blue pins.

I will see what can I do, but no promises because my hands are full. I am working on something else, and I need to finish it.

Support ticket submitted...meanwhile I solved it..I just had to change the "permissions"

in Firefox. Now Web push is enabled.

I tried to amend my support post, but it's awaiting moderation so I couldn't post this

information there. Sorry for the false alarm!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
