The Falcon and the Winter Soldier got off to a fairly solid start in Nielsen's streaming rankings.

The Disney+ series starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan racked up 495 million minutes of viewing time for the week of March 15-21. That ranks second among original series (behind Netflix's Ginny & Georgia at 540 million minutes) for the week, and seventh among all programming on Disney+, Amazon's Prime Video, Hulu and Netflix.

The series also drew a bit more viewing time than Disney+'s previous Marvel show, WandaVision, whose January debut drew 434 million minutes of watch time. The 495 million minutes for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier equates to an audience of about 9.9 million accounts, based on the 50-minute running time of the premiere episode.

The March 15-21 frame was a fairly light week for streaming overall, with the top title — Grey's Anatomy on Netflix — coming in at 673 million minutes. That's the smallest number of minutes for an overall No. 1 in the seven-and-a-half months that Nielsen has been releasing weekly ratings.

Netflix's Yes Day was the top movie on the four measured platforms with 593 million minutes of watch time. The previous week's leader, Coming 2 America on Amazon, fell by 64 percent to 273 million minutes.

Not included in the rankings is Zack Snyder's Justice League on HBO Max. That's because Nielsen doesn't regularly include the WarnerMedia streamer in its weekly rankings (though it made a onetime exception for Wonder Woman 1984).

Streaming platforms contend Nielsen's methodology doesn't capture the full scope of viewing on devices other than TV sets. Nielsen also only measures U.S. audiences, not those in other countries, and currently only includes Amazon, Disney+, Hulu and Netflix in its rankings.
