Microsoft released the February 2021 non-security Microsoft Office updates with improvements and fixes for issues and crashes impacting Windows Installer (MSI) editions of Office 2016, Office 2013, and Office 2010 products.

Multiple updates (KB4493164KB4493169, and KB4493179) have been released to address issues that may lead to a PowerPoint crash when opening documents containing diagrams.

KB4493190 fixes another issue that causes Outlook reminders to behave unpredictably on systems whose time zones change regularly.

February 2021 Office non-security update list

Three of the Office February 2021 non-security updates apply to the entire Microsoft Office 2016, Microsoft Office 2013, and Microsoft Office 2010 software suites, while four others address issues affecting the PowerPoint and Outlook apps.

The February 2021 updates can be manually installed from the Download Center or by using the Microsoft Update service for automatic installation.

They apply to Microsoft Installer (.msi)-based Office products only and do not apply to Office subscription or Office 2016 Click-to-Run editions like Microsoft Office 365 Home.

The full list of updates and the Office product they apply to is embedded below.

Some updates may need a reboot

After installing some of the Microsoft Office updates released, you may also be required to reboot your computer.

If your Office installation starts misbehaving after applying an update, you can uninstall it using the following steps:

  1. Go to Start, enter View Installed Updates in the Search Windows box, and then press Enter.
  2. In the list of updates, locate and select the offending update, and then select Uninstall.

Depending on the installed Office update, you may also need to deploy other updates for the issue to be completely fixed on your Windows computer (for instance, KB4493189 requires installing KB 4493164 to fully fix the issue ).
