These things also happen in India & more. Children have their limbs amputated to make them beg on the streets or girls are buried alive on birth because they just want a baby boy.

Children are vulnerable everywhere.

The history of the Ottoman civilization is well known, remnants of which are still visible in Spain. Besides, there is no single European culture as such. Each country in Europe has it's own history, culture, traditions, good & bad. The Greeks are totally different to the Scots. However, the Turks are very similar in culture to some Eastern European culture, such as Albania.

Also, at the moment there is not much Economic security by being in the EU as Greece is experiencing. In fact, being outside EU is currently more advantageous, economically speaking.

All this just my two cents worth. :)
