chlorophyll
This is it. The wait is over, Firefox 3.6, formerly codenamed Namoroka, is literally just around the corner. Mozilla has announced the official general availability deadline for the release considered a minor update to Firefox 3.5, managing to live up to its promise of delivering the bits by the end of January 2010. In this regard, the final development milestone of Firefox 3.6 will be offered to the general public, tomorrow, January 21st, 2010. Of course, you should keep your eyes glued to this space, because, as we did in the past, Softpedia will do its best to bring you the final bits of Firefox 3.6, at least a few hours ahead of the official release. “Firefox 3.6 will be available for download at www.firefox.com on Thursday, January 21st at 9:30am Pacific Standard Time,” reads the announcement posted by Mozilla on the page promising that “Firefox 3.6 is coming soon!” On January 19, Mozilla was discussing two potential release dates for Firefox 3.6, namely Thursday, January 21, or Monday, January 25, and it looks like the company has made its choice. At the bottom of this article, you will be able to watch an embedded video featuring the highlights of the evolution to Firefox 3.6. According to Mozilla, users will be able to enjoy advanced customization capabilities with Personas, but also browse the web with increased stability by leveraging Outdated Plugin Detection. Firefox 3.6 also comes with support for full Screen Open Video, Web open Font Format, CSS Gradients and Backgrounds for Developers, File API and is equipped with Desktop Orientation Sensors. One of the most important changes in Firefox 3.6 is the added performance that the new browser will offer end users. Firefox 3.6 is no less than 20% faster compared to its predecessor, version 3.5, according to Mozilla. Users that feel comfortable with running pre-release software can grab the second Release Candidate (RC) of Firefox 3.6 released a few days ago. Firefox 3.6 RC2 is as close as possible to the final release and will give users a pretty good idea of what’s coming tomorrow, January 21.also read this articlesource : softpedia

HX1
Does some one have a proper link that is not FTP?.. Every time I have to wait for the one on the site... WHY? Because my FF tuns into an FTP Client when it reached an FTP link.. and in every case.. even days after official release.. this link does not work... which is odd because it works on other sites quite readily.. even my own FTP sites.. Anyone have another link?EDIT: Changed the FTP:// in the link to HTTP:// for some reason it worked perfectly..

HX1
Well.. it always presents a problem, even after removing the deferrer part.. if you install FireFTP and have it handle all of your FTP links then you would see what I mean I think the problem comes from how the link is being handled..BUT like I said above removing the deferrer bit.. and changing the FTP to HTTP works like it should.... and it really is odd because all other links to other sites work fine.. so it could be in redirection, domain name formation, or something else at the site...( I have tried other settings for FireFTP ) and I have gotten the same response before from others ' well it works for us ' so .. w/e.. Probably should wait for the link from the main page anyway..Not specific to you or your link ..
Administrator DKT27 Posted January 21, 2010 Administrator Share Posted January 21, 2010 Still, FireFTP doesn't have a feature where you can exclude the links when you press a button while clicking a link?
Night Owl
I cannot download it from the link given above. Internet Download Manager says "550 Permission Denied". I even tried downloading with SRWare Iron and it says:This webpage is not found. No webpage was found for the web address:ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%203.6.exe
