Perhaps getting more money for it plus better battery life for the next user.

There are numerous benefits of selling your phone sooner rather than later that are illustrated below:

Value Drops: One of the great benefits of selling your smart phones sooner rather than later is that old model do not retain their value, so when you decide to upgrade to a new model you have to sell your old phone for a decent amount of cash.

Condition: Condition is everything when it comes to fetching a sensible price for your used phone. Smart phones are easily broken devices, even a small damage effect on its price. Even small dings to the case or slight scuffs are slowly reducing its value. Trusted Cell Phone Buyer companies are using various techniques to check the hardware and software condition of your cell phone. Managing a phone condition is quite difficult especially in a family having kids. So, it would be an ideal decision to sell your phone on time before any damage occurs.

Release Date: The most important thing to consider in mind is release dates for upgrading your current phone.  With the arrival of new phone, price drops of its previous model. You should have enough updates regarding your cell phone to keep a fair portion of your resale value on time.

Personally i would suggest to use the phone untill some major issues come...every now and then new phones are being launched with slight modifications. Once bought, its resale value decreases.

You buy another, in a few days you might wanna upgrade again. The cycle never ends.

Use it till it becomes unusable. Sell it or exchange it for a new set which would then feel like a major upgrade from the one you were using before.

Just like a new car every one or two years, a new phone gets quite costly, despite selling the old phone you are still paying a very high cost for that new model every year...yet that phone you just sold for a pittance still is very serviceable for 2 or 3 or more years, or longer.  That  is boat load of money to waste always getting new
