Night Owl Posted January 11, 2010 Share Posted January 11, 2010 In its latest attempt to show us just how much it cares about our welfare, McDonalds is to carry out a three-year study into methane emissions from cattle.The study on 350 British farms will be carried out by independent energy consulting firm ECO2 , which will measure emissions on each farm and advise on ways to reduce them.ECO2 will use a greenhouse gas calculator to work out just how regularly the cows are farting. Techniques for minimising methane emission include making dietary changes - no beans, presumably - and improving grazing management.The first test results are expected in April, and the company plans to extend the initiative to other European countries.Methane is one of the most potent greenhouse gases, warming the atmosphere by some 23 times more than carbon dioxide. I worked at one between the ages of 15-16 for $4.25 p/hr.. had the night shifts..totally destroyed my school work.. It had good food I could just totally pig-out on .. but after awhile for some reason the food .. even thinking about it.. made me sick to my stomach.. Must have been all the grease vats... and Q-ing Ovens...I had no idea..We need to get you into retail or something...(get paid more too .. even at your age..) Much better option for you..(not to mention all the grease and cooking is going to be horrible for your skin.. mix that with not getting any rest, the dietary element.. and your face becomes a wasteland..
