I am leery of using a remote control s/w that 'does it all' and which appears to originate from China;

Those folks seem to have a reputation for sneaky data collection & other insecure actions that have been discussed very widely.

Here are some links:

And this one:

That has ZERO real info about them, but does include=>

T12x platform is designed and developed by TTXN software. it can establish instant multi-media communication channels among computers, embeded devices and web browsers,and provides role, roster, session, token management. It also provides video access, storage, management and distribution service. T12x has built-in Web server and server side program language 12x. It combines HTTP and instant communication seamlessly. T12x provides convenient multi-languages management tool,make it easier to do localization on web application. T12x server is very small, it can even run on embeded device. It's the simplest solution to live video broadcast, remote support,distance education, conference, Network Video Recorder (NVR), Internet of Things(IOT),device management and etc.

At the bottom it says this:

And includes this link:

Which leads to:

Too bad if it may be untrustworthy, because it does so very much compared with most other remote access & control s/w.

Why not use WinVNC / UltraVNC, either well established?

I use various s/w already including VNC via a VPN & also ZeroTier, BUT:

The options for full screen sharing & file transfer & clipboard such that a PC can control Android are very limited.

This setup claims to do all of that for every OS.

  • 2 years later...

Other new remote access stuff has come around since I posted the OP here.

Any really good, solid suggestions, anyone ??

Thanks.

Just out of curiosity, what are your intentions for said "remote control" software?

As previously stated there are already many options with well established histories and support (mostly free), which are very intuitive and still quite effective.

The community may be able to better tailor a response if you were to outline your requirements and/or specific needs.

~Cheers~

In short...

I have some elderly (older than me !!) friends who moved 1000's of miles away & I still help them with their PCs.

Another (younger, non-techie) friend is in the same state, but ~2 hours north, I also help him & his wife with their PCs.

We are all Linux users, of course.

Mostly I use Anydesk in its free state - but its file transfer abilities are very limited in that state & we ain't paying their huge/annual fee to get more features.

I use a couple of other clean & well trusted methods, but I also keep alert for whatever may show up with more features that is also free.

And BTW=>

I will never, ever use teamviewer or anything similar to it again - I also have zero interest in anything RPi or Docker based.

HTH describe what brings up my query ??
