I have tested this method and it works very well, but the video player looks different: I think the title of the video appears at the top when the user points his mouse at it.
On the other hand, it's much easier to install an ad and/or tracker blocker in your browser, which also works for the vast majority of sites; however, I would choose this alternative solution. Thanks for sharing it! ^_^
