Driver takes advantage of Germany's empty autobahn to hit 231MPH in his Ferrari LaFerrari during coronavirus lockdown

A driver in Germany has been seen hitting more than 230mph along an almost empty motorway that was left deserted during the coronavirus lockdown.

 

A video of a Ferrari LaFerrari tearing along the autobahn was posted on social media last week.

 

The clip showed the sports car's dashboard as the engine roared and accelerated towards its top speed.

 

The vehicle, worth around £1.7million, was travelling along an unrestricted portion of the freeway when the footage was recorded.

 

As the car raced beyond 217mph and 224mph it eventually passed two other vehicles on the nearly empty carriageway.
