If I'm not mistaken, the keys from Kaspersky can be geo-restricted ones or non geo-restricted.

But looking on this statement:

It gives an impression that the key is probably geo-restricted. So to be safe, activate the product but under a proxy/VPN of the country. After activation, should be able to use it without proxy/VPN needed.
