Guest tomcat619
Sorry to be a little upset but I don't understand corporate America anymore. Microsoft has chosen to attack the victims of piracy instead of going after the pirates. When I "bought my copy of Windows XP I was probably a little nieve about what experienced geeks knew about illegal copies. I purchsed what was supposed to be a legall OEM copy of XP PRO. When I found out it was illegal it was several months later. I called Microsoft to tell them about this person selling hundreds of illegal copies of Windows on Yahoo auction. I also asked what they were going to do about stopping this. Their answer was they would send him a letter and ask him to stop. They said it was too costly to do much else. Now Microsoft has found a way to force the victims of people like him to pay again or be hounded relentlessly. It's all about $$$$. Leave it to corporate Microsoft to screw us again. Offer us a chance to upgrade to a future O.S. It's too expensive to stop the pirates so screw the helpless victim. Thanks MS :P

Lammster
Sorry to sound like a dick, but you shouldn't expect software you buy off an online auction to be legit. Not much you can do about it though except be annoyed by it. You have my sympathy.
Cougar
Here's a thought:People don't like feeling that they are a victim of injustice. Microsoft's attempt to hurt helpless victims of piracy may backfire on them... as obviously a software fix for the problem will soon be released by pirates. But now instead of Microsoft having respect and paying customers for their next version, people, angry, who felt forced to find the alternate fix, now have learned, networked, and joined with pirates in spite of the the company's offensive against them, and remain in that mindset. Microsoft's bold yet inconsiderate move may have just begun making them their own worst enemy.
Guest tomcat619
After visiting some other forums I think the general thought is to learn Linux and avoid Microsoft all together. I've downloaded it and will start the learning process right away. It won't make any difference to Bill Gates and that disapoints me to no end. NadaWTB
I love how everyone bashes MS but we all clamour to get the newest versions of their software, whether we buy it legally or "acquire" it by other means. As for the guy who bought an illegal copy, stop being so naive and MS owes you nothing for being an idiot.

I pay some services and some softwares but I hate MS. their attitude isn't the correct. I'd say them " sell us a cheap software and everyone will buy a copy"You are right. it's all about MONEY......!!!
