Microsoft's Edge Canary gains family safety section in its settings

Microsoft's Edge Canary has added a family safety section within its settings to allow parents to keep control of their kids' activities online when using that browser. With the latest change, you can access your Microsoft family dashboard in order to gain access to someone’s settings or add a new family member (via Techdows).

The family safety settings let you limit certain types of content, restrict screen times for kids, and monitor your family members' spending via the Store. You can also manage the screen time limit feature across devices so your kids can't switch to another device in order to work their away around the restriction.

Of course, you will need to use your Microsoft account in order to access those capabilities. To set up a Family Safety account in Windows 10, simply head over to Settings, Accounts, Family and Other Users, and add a child account. Keep in mind that Family Dashboard can only be used with Edge, otherwise, the family safety settings won't work properly.

This new capability is enabled in the Edge Canary 82.0.456.0 build. Microsoft introduced this option back in June 2019 via a flag in Edge, but today's update makes that capability more accessible to parents.
