OneByte Kenobi
I’ve searched around and haven’t found any reliable information, perhaps someone here has experience with my situation. I’m running Windows 10 LTSC v1809 on a bootable external Samsung X5 thunderbolt 3 ssd. It’s connected to a 2018 MacBook Pro and deploys via bootcamp. I want to clone this drive and migrate everything to an internal partition on the MacBook, which I believe needs to be setup via bootcamp as well. Eventually I wish to build a dedicated windows machine and transfer the cloned image to it in the future, but I haven’t got that far, so for the purposes of this question I’ll focus on the former. I’ve found one article on Acronis’ website regarding bootcamp, but it doesn’t answer my specific situation and is roughly 3 years outdated. It seems that perhaps using the Acronis True Image .exe whilst running the windows OS will perform the necessary clone, but I’m not sure if I can migrate it directly to an internal (in the Mac) partition, or if I’d first need it copied to a separate external and then copy back to an internal partition. Or should I use the bootable .iso for cloning? What about Acronis Snap Deploy? This tool appears to be capable of doing what I want (cloning one machine and sending it to another in one go, where the new box could be considered “different hardware”), but there’s the discrepancy in whether I should be using a PC version of Acronis or Mac version. Any suggestions?
