There's a new jailbreak out for your old iPhone 7, and it lets you run Android on it. Yes, you can finally run the OS that you consciously chose not to when you bought the device, but if you've ever wondered what Android is like on an iPhone, now you can find out.

The beta was released today and it's called Project Sandcastle. There are some things that you should be aware of though. For example, while your only options for CPU support are the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and the latest iPod Touch, there are other aspects of the hardware that don't work at this time. There's no support for the GPU, the camera, audio, cellular, Bluetooth, and on the iPod Touch only, multitouch.

While it's a strange thing to actually want to do with your iPhone (obviously, you won't want to do this on your primary device), it's a big achievement. In fact, Project Sandcastle claims that its founders were the ones that got Android running on the original iPhone a decade ago.

Project Sandcastle is still in beta, and those missing features stated above, presumably including the limited number of supported devices, should start to get fixed. If you want to check it out, you can find it here.
