v5.64 would just hang on my system, I start mine on "Custom Clean" and I have it blocked in the firewall.

1.  Unblock from firewall

2.  I ran the stupid health check.

3.  Moved the tab back to "Custom Clean"

4.  Re-block in firewall

Now all is good.  I hope this helps.

This way you have nothing to block:

@xenocent Thanks post removed.

Like on most online forums the use of the 'Like / Thanks' button is preferred over simply posting 'Thanks' or something similar. Making an excessive amount of posts which add little to nothing to a topic might result in a post count reduction.

@UpGrade Do you recommend an uninstall of an existing installation before using your repack?

EDIT: What does the Command Prompt running in the background when CCleaner is running do?

EDIT2: CCenhancer is new to me. How many folks are using it?

Has anyone used the "Cleaner" in Total Uninstall as well as this?

Wow. Piriform is now making it mandatory to use health check on first startup.

Probably only once and only on the free version, mine starts totally normal and default is 'Custom Clean'.

Followed @crack1up's advice, and it does now work flawlessly.

But those who used any activation solution prior to upgrade v5.64, you might need to repatch your copy after following his advice. CCleaner has tendency to call home its products and possibly invalidate the license.

That's your opinion, but that's not even my concern.

Bear in mind that I had previous CCleaner installation with pre-activated setup before, so had to clean install it due to the changes done on v5.64.

1. Facts != Opinions :whistle:

2. There are smarter ways to update the software. And I had zero problems on v5.64, this way works already years perfectly without any tools or patch.

How to  disable  the health check via the registry

Fortunately CCleaner allows users to enable or disable new "Health Check" option using Registry Editor. Interested users can turn on/off "Health Check" option in CCleaner by modifying Windows registry. Once you disable "Health Check" option, it'll automatically restore "Easy Clean" option in CCleaner.

If you also want to enable or disable new "Health Check" option in CCleaner, following steps will help you:

1. Make sure CCleaner is completely closed in your computer. If you see its icon in system tray, right-click on it and select Exit option.

2. Now press WIN+R keys together to open RUN dialog box. You can also open it from WIN+X menu. Now type regedit in RUN dialog box and press Enter. It'll open Registry Editor.

3. Now go to following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Piriform\CCleaner

4. In right-side pane, look for (Cfg)HealthCheck string.

If value of (Cfg)HealthCheck is set to 0, it means the "Health Check" option is disabled in CCleaner.

If value of (Cfg)HealthCheck is set to 1, it means the "Health Check" option is enabled in CCleaner.

I dont  think the portable from  dev  in the zip  is stealth  or portableapps would not bother making  it Paf , portableapps version not updated yet but should soon, you would  have to edit the settings from inside the    portable settings . Most portables from the devs are not meant to be stealth only they make them were you can run them from a usb  drive or hd./ssd  not installed  .
