Downloading YouTube videos and playlists

There are way too many options when it comes to software for downloading videos and/or playlists from YouTube. I used to like MassTube but it lacks several vital features when compared to similar software. I like YTD but sometimes it doesn't work, other times it asks for my login but fails anyway.

To get to the point: what program do you use to download from YouTube?

- must be for Windows

- would like it to auto-detect links in clipboard

- must be able to download videos as well as playlists

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

I think Jdownloader is good for that.

for me when I want to download a playlist I use this website here  to generate links and then I download them  with IDM.

When YouTube downloaders feature having "clipboard auto-detect" it probably means the app has a "Paste Link" button that when clicked once will automatically grab the clipboard URL and automatically get the video ready for download.

So based on the needs listed above I would recommend 4K Video Downloader 4.11.3.3420 Portable with the patch there and/or MediaHuman YouTube Downloader 3.9.9.32 (2801) with the serial info HERE.

I've tested many of the various YouTube downloaders out there and both are two of the very best in my opinion, because for me they also support tracking channels to automatically download new videos as soon they're uploaded, as well as cover the needs listed above.

But other needs or a specific most important need may change my recommendations.

YouTubebyclick is by far the best for me. Head over heals in features over the others. Under £10 if you want to open up the full version, but meds ou there.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions. 👍

I will test out the programs that were mentioned and if I am not satisfied, I will return here.

i use RealPlayer, nothing like it used to be many years ago, can easily download videos from any site, you can trim and convert to almost any file type including MP3, just paste the link into RealDownloader or click the download with RealPlayer button on the site!

After trying all of the aforementioned programs that users have suggested, as well as a couple ideas that were sent to me via PM, I have found the winner.

4k Video Downloader is a great application that has all the features I want:
- can login to YouTube within the app (and with ease)

- can subscribe to channels for auto-downloading

- can download individual videos as well as playlists

- simply paste a link with Smart Mode enabled and download begins without prompt

Thank you all again for the suggestions and information!
