Is there a way to prevent opening firefox ?

Hi all !

I am using Firefox 72 x64 and want to prevent other people to run it.
I tried to use the "master password feature" included in the app but it is not suitable.
I would like to find a way so that the password would be asked just before opening Firefox.
An extension maybe ?
Password protect the executable ?
... ?
Thank you

And again... Such a super-stupid extension is only needed when people still live in DOS time. :lmao:

Instead of password protecting Firefox, you can try the following..

  • Block firefox.exe using antivirus
  • (Password protect antivirus settings)

This way you will need to Allow firefox.exe in the antivirus settings (using the password) when you want to use it

I can tell how-to if you are using Kaspersky.

Group Policy...

  • Hold down the Windows Key and press “R” to bring up the Run dialog box.
  • Type “gpedit.msc“, then press “Enter“. The Group Policy Editor appears.
  • Expand “User Configuration” > “Administrative Templates“, then select “System“.
  • Open the policy “Don’t run specified Windows applications“.

You can also create a crypted file (with Veracrypt, for example); inside which you run Firefox portable edition. Of course, you need to mount and dismount your crypted file, but you have the security.
