Microsoft's Edge Chromium browser to ship in Windows 10 as soon as it's generally available

 

Here at Microsoft's Ignite 2019 conference, the company announced the general availability date for its new Chromium-based Edge browser. The rebuilt Edge will be available on January 15. In fact, if you sign up for the Beta channel, you can get the release candidate right now.

 

The next question is that of when the browser will actually ship with Windows 10, with many speculating that it might ship in 20H1 - which would be the first feature update after January 15 - or even 20H2, since 20H1 might RTM in December. As it turns out, neither of those theories are accurate, as the browser will start to be bundled with the OS right after the GA date.

 

It's going to be a slow rollout though. We're not all going to wake up one day and find Legacy Edge replaced by the new Edge. That's how staged rollouts work though. There will be a small sample group that will get it first, and then that group will be expanded. As for new installations of Windows, the bits will be sent out to OEMs as soon as they're generally available.

 

The point is that it doesn't require a Windows 10 feature update at all. The app can simply be bundled with the OS, and as we've seen, when Edge is installed from the production branch, it replaces Legacy Edge, or Edge Spartan. So if you buy a new PC next year, chances are that it will be running Edge Chromium out of the box.

Waiting for the edge chrome to come on home. So that i can get rid of chrome and Edge together and keep EC and Firefox (IE too for some sites which only works with it still.)

Microsoft Chromium based Edge is the worst available Chromium based browser at all.
So, the idea to get rid of basic Chromium or or Chrome, is very bad idea. It's the only working browser in Windows at all.

I'm using the Edge chrome Canary and then moved to Edge chrome Beta since it's launch, And well. I do find edge chrome to be the best & light implementation of Chromium compared to other any browsers based on the same like (brave, vivaldi, opera, yandex and others along those lines.).
So i don't know what your mean by that, but so far Edge chrome have been performing very well on all the devices i run it on. And i only ever have to use GChrome for running occasional Google earth studio for some projects.

So. Keep at it then! Firefox is the best browser though. Regardless, Edge chrome is the best chrome based one available at the moment from what i personally feel.

But it's up to you to decide what you use. You do not need to ask anyone for permission to do so, nor do you need to write us presentations here.
Use if you want. No one can help you learn to fly, if You don't have the wings, and have only emotions.
If nearly twice higher space usage and about twice higher CPU usage is good for You, use it but don't tell to others, that it is good.

PS Have You ever used clean Chromium? And if You say that Firefox is browser, then we have no more nothing to talk.

Seems like some one has been a chrome slave since quite sometime. Well, Since you don't seems to have recognized the power of firefox over chrome there is well as you said. Nothing to talk to you. End of talks in here. Good luck mate.
