Germany will allow Huawei hardware into its 5G networks

Against the advice of the United States, Germany has decided that it will allow hardware from Huawei to be used in 5G networks within the country. The decision was made following allegations made by the U.S. that Huawei hardware contains back doors that allow the Chinese to snoop on communications.

Germany has become one of the first major countries to side in favour of Huawei. Last month, Poland signed an agreement with the U.S. making it tougher for Huawei to be included in 5G networks. Meanwhile, the UK government is still deliberating over its position, networks in the UK are in favour of including Huawei hardware while GCHQ has spoken out against the Chinese firm.

In a statement, Huawei welcomed Germany’s decision and spoke out against the U.S.’ campaign against it, saying:

“Politicising cyber-security will only hinder technology development and social progress while doing nothing to address the security challenges all countries face. Huawei will continue to work openly with regulators, customers, and industry organisations to ensure that mobile networks are secure. Over the past 30 years, we have served more than three billion people around the world, and we have maintained a strong track record in security throughout.”

With the decision to keep Huawei, Germans will be able to access 5G sooner; telecoms in the country said that excluding Huawei would also have cost billions of dollars, so those costs will no longer need to be passed on to customers.

Sounds like Germany did not see/find anything backing US allegations against Huawei. Or Germany has a way to block China into snooping communications, if the allegations are true.

Sounds like is not the facts the facts are  it has to do with money and not Cyber Security

All German telecoms operators use Huawei equipment and have previously warned banning it would delay the rollout of 5G and cost billions of dollars.

Same reason they still places not to do with the goverment in the USA  that have it for now Germany don't want to pay billions to have it removed .

But due to laws in the USA the goverment ban Huawei  in 2012

Quote

The core issue with Huawei has been concerns about its coziness with the Chinese government and fears that its equipment could be used to spy on other countries and companies. It's the reason why the US banned companies from using Huawei networking equipment in 2012 and why the company was added to the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security Entity List in May, following an executive order from President Donald Trump effectively banning Huawei from US communications network

its going to become about Cyber Security

Quote

In a letter to the country’s economics minister, U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard A. Grenell wrote allowing the participation of Huawei or other Chinese equipment vendors in the 5G project would mean the U.S. won’t be able to maintain the same level of cooperation with German security agencies.

No more Info from the NSA for Germany  :P

There was never any issue with Huawei hardware other than it being  far superior to anything else.  All is political nonsense with no facts to back it up.

Yes, was aware of that. It was a kind of ironic comment. As you noted, 'legally' is a key point.

In the US they is many  types of  law enforcement  you have to worry about  so the NSA is the lest of your worries unless your from somewhere else and if you ever done anything after you turn 18 they have a record of it anyway, they know were your at unless your on the  Down-low and soon as you get stopped they will catch you if your on the run.and wanted  thats why they  made the FBI .

People who worry about stuff like this Huawei that been ban since 2012  talking about it want ever change there mind and it don't matter who gets in there they not going to remove it regardless . Once the USA blackballs you your finished  forever at lest in the USA. you are. a tech company is a not a country . China and USA will be settled the trade war and still they  want unban them .

This is why

In December 2011, Bloomberg reported that the U.S. is invoking Cold War-era national security powers to force telecommunication companies including AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc. to divulge confidential information about their networks in a hunt for Chinese cyber-spying. The US House Intelligence Committee had said on 18 November that it would investigate foreign companies, and a spokesman for Huawei said that the company conducts its businesses according to normal business practices and actually welcomed the investigation.[ On 8 October 2012, the Committee issued a report concluding Huawei and ZTE were a "national security threat.

On 19 July 2013, Michael Hayden, former head of the U.S. National Security Agency and director of Motorola Solutions, claimed that he has seen hard evidence of backdoors in Huawei's networking equipment and that the company engaged in espionage and shared intimate knowledge of the foreign telecommunications systems with the Chinese government. Huawei and Motorola Solutions had previously been engaged in intellectual property disputes for a number of years. Huawei's global cybersecurity officer, John Suffolk, described the comments made by Hayden as "tired, unsubstantiated, defamatory remarks" and challenged him and other critics to present any evidence publicly.

In 2014, The New York Times reported, based upon documents leaked by Edward Snowden, that the U.S. National Security Agency has since 2007 been operating a covert program against Huawei. This involved breaking into Huawei's internal networks, including headquarter networks and founder Ren Zhengfei's communications. In 2014, Huawei reached a sponsorship deal with the NFL's Washington Redskins to install free public Wi-Fi at FedExField, but the agreement was abruptly shelved weeks after it was announced due to unofficial action by a U.S. government advisor.

Snowden documents show the NSA been running covert program against Huawei  since 2007  so talking about it want  ever change anything. :lmao:
