Karlston
New Start menu on Windows 10 20H1 should look like this While many of us don’t want a Live Tile-less Windows 10 experience, Microsoft has decided to move on from almost a decade old UI to pave the way for a new Start menu experience. From what we have seen so far, the Live Tile-alternative in leaked Build 18947 isn’t promising and frankly, it’s not a worthy competitor. Windows 10 users voiced a similar opinion and rejected the alternative outright. Notably, Steven Sinofsky who was also the brain behind the Windows 8 UI didn’t like the new design that is expected to replace the Live Tiles. While the new design is in a development phase and will receive many improvements before it ships to the public, based on the leaked build, Twitter user @Scoots37 has designed a new Start menu that seems very close to what Microsoft wants to achieve. In my opinion, the new Start menu on Windows 10 20H1 should look exactly like this, or better. If Microsoft ends up making the new Start menu look this good., would you finally stop missing the Live Tile UI? spudboy
Both the 18947 build and the authors mock-up are complete garbage.
ajdibi
Just bring back the Windows 7 Start Menu. It was simple, it worked and the majority of people prefer it.

stylemessiah
So heres what happened: 1) microsoft let a 13 year old design a stupid tiled phone interface for a desktop PC 2) Microsoft release dit in Windows 8..... 3) People hated it 4) Microsoft told everyone they had metrics showing no one used the start menu, they "all" used desktop shortcuts 5) People told them they were wrong 6) 3rd party vendors heard what people were yelling and worte rpelacements 7) Microsoft stuck their finger sin their ears and pretended they couldnt hear the backlash, and maintained they were right Microsoft released Windows 8.1 and then 10, and still didnt get the fricking hint 9) Peopel continue dot pay for 3rd party start menus even 10) Microsoft finally saw the writign in the wall, 4 years later and changed the Start Menu (finally), though changing it to something useful was too much like defeat for them, so they make just unsuable enough that you still need a 3rd party app to use your PC... FFS Microisoft, i still install OpenShell on every Windwos 10 PC i set up, and thsi of course gives people the usable, tried and tested and loved menu system from Windows goddamn 7 Recognise you failed and give people what they want You lost, deal with it
