Matrix
At least two key domains previously operated by 'pirate' IPTV service Vader Streams have now fallen under the control of the Alliance For Creativity. Both domains currently divert to the Alliance's site after displaying an increasingly common anti-piracy warning. As yet, however, there's no confirmation that the MPAA has taken full ownership, since a privacy protection service is obscuring the details. This May, the popular Vader Streams ‘pirate’ IPTV service was suddenly shut down. From the very beginning of the disruption, it was fairly clear that the service was in special difficulties, probably related to legal action. For months there has been speculation but last week it was finally confirmed that the global anti-piracy coalition Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment was behind the shutdown. According to the MPAA, a leading force in the group, Vader Streams is now liable to pay $10 million in damages. According to ACE, as part of the surrender package, Vader must also “cede administrative control” over its entire “piracy infrastructure”. The full list of assets that Vader can hand over to ACE members isn’t clear but for months now TF has been monitoring two domains that we know were directly connected to Vader. At the time of the shutdown, Minihosts.org – a site where users could directly signup to the Vader service – was pointing to a server in the Netherlands. It has been stubbornly pointing to the same Netherlands-based IP address ever since. The same can also be said about the more obviously-named Vaders.tv, pictured below. In advance to the announcement last week, any changes to these domains could’ve given an early indication of confirmed legal action, including who was behind it. This time around, however, the Alliance for Creativity waited for their official announcement before making any changes. Now, however, both domains are now displaying the familiar ACE anti-piracy message shown below, before diverting to the Alliance’s official web portal, which details some, but not all, of its actions against other ‘pirate’ video services. When compared to previous domain ‘seizures’, however, this one looks slightly different. In other cases, several of which we’ve detailed before, the MPAA itself has taken over the domains, a fact that has been made clear via WHOIS lookups that show that the Hollywood group is the new owner. This time, however, both domains currently have their ownership details hidden by privacy-protection service Privacy Protect LLC. The reason for this is currently unclear but given that domains now redirect to ACE and are also using the MPAA’s nameservers, it seems fairly obvious the handover of former Vader assets is well underway. The service previously promised that it would protect user data with the statement, “We’re going to make sure, no Email, IP, account + reseller name goes to the wrong hands. Everything will be wiped clean and that’s all.” While that may very well have happened as promised, we also know that ACE used a secret court process and effectively ambushed one or more Vader operators/staff armed with an Anton Piller order, a civil search warrant that granted them no-notice permission to enter premises to secure and copy evidence before it could be destroyed or tampered with. Good luck with the them trying to track down the 8 million subscriptions he sold and trying prove they bought it. They see people downloading content from P2P everyday and they never take many to court it cost to much money and they lose a lot of cases. Judges have been sick of seeing copyright trolls for years now. Maybe 10 years ago may had try to take people to court..Tell they pass a law saying other wise it's a just a civil matter anyway. Always when ACE bust someone people post Chicken little BS , fear mongering tall tails . Just like when Terrarium TV shut down people calmed he was handing over there ip to ACE, When he just put that check in there to stop people from using the app, nothing ever came out of it. Look at all the people who had warez uploaded to Megaupload , the FBI has had there info since 2012 and they never took any little fish to court. They only go after big fish, because when they use to go after small fish they would get off the hook. They will never see no money out of most people they take to court because they don't have much money and after years of court battles they know this now. Go after the money has been there plain for lots of years now. Vader is old news already others have took his place . One mans lost is another mans gain. He most likely wrote ACE a check for $10 million to settle with them and still sitting on millions , as long as he don't discuss it he will be fine. Anton Pillar order is rare they use to issue those back in the satellite piracy days, say a satellite dealer settle for 1 million, and they had to agree to permanently stay out of the satellite piracy business. they never went after consumers only the dealers. People bootleging networks is nothing new . It's been around as long as cable and satellite. Back in the early 2000s we had a guy that lived up the road from us that sold black satellite cards when they would scramble it you just took it to his house and he run trough his PC and fix it. Rip, the poor guy is dead now, Only reason ACE was hard on Vader because he was a dealer and they was just after money he bought his way out of jail . Anyone that don't profit off of it they just give them a cease and desist order at the most they don't have time for small fish . Same as when Dish went after TV Addons the owner bought his way out of jail he made all his money from ads and selling peoples data. Now I believe he really was helping ACE to bust kodi addon devs . I think they filliped him. Vader was friends with many of the Kodi addon devs that got busted . They been rat in that circle every since they Adam Lackman was forced to stop hosting infringing addons on TV Addon's portal . Still after everything thing that happen Microsoft , Google and social media still give them bandwidth for there repos and let them promote them on there websites. It had be someone ratted on them because some of the DEVs used VPNs and everything or they got sloppy and left bread crumbs . It was not just Vader's got served it was resellers got served too .
