Karlston
AdDuplex: Windows 10 May 2019 Update doubles its usage share AdDuplex has published their report for July, revealing how well various versions of Windows 10 are scoring. The report has finally brought some good news for the latest Windows 10 May 2019 update. As you can see in the above image, The Windows 10 May 2019 Update usage share now stands at 11.4 percent — more than five percent gain in usage share since last month. Windows 10 April 2018 Update(1803) is still on top with 53.7 percent of usage share, down from 58 percent last month. Windows 10 October 2018 Update sits right next to the April 2018 with 29.7 percent share, down from 30 percent last month. And if you look at those numbers closely, you’ll notice that the growth that May 2019 Update witnessed, has come from the April 2018 Update only. Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and holds 2.4 percent share, while the Windows 10 Creators along with older version hold only 2.7 percent. While doubling of usage share is certainly good news for May 2019 Update, the slow adoption rate is a matter of concern. And if the usage share of the May Update increases at a similar rate, it’d take another three to four months to take over the usage share of more than a year old April 2018 Update. Note, the data is based on more than 100,000 PCs surveyed, therefore, it never paints the whole picture — the actual data might be a lot different from that of the AdDuplex. steven36
They forcing users off of 18.03 with AI updates so it's no shocker they been on it for a year and Microsoft only supports a version of windows 10 18 mths to a consumer https://www.computerworld.com/article/3409621/microsoft-starts-windows-10s-1803-to-1903-forced-upgrade.html. Just like they try force people on old hardware Windows 7 and 8.1 to upgrade to Windows 10 the 1st year for free then turn around and cut out upgrades on some old cpus after they bugged them about it for a year tell they done it in 2017 and 2018 , this the 1st time they started trying to even resolve issues on old cpus since 2016 . July 2017 https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-blocks-windows-10-creators-update-on-some-pcs/ June 2018 https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-unexpectedly-drops-windows-7-support-for-some-ancient-cpus/ Also people that buy new hardware are forced to use Windows 10. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4012982/the-processor-is-not-supported-together-with-the-windows-version-that It's not really new news they been remote controlling updates on consumers PCs every since Windows 10 TH1 and try do it on older windows too but they were ways to prevent it . They said they was going stop it in May https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-will-no-longer-force-windows-10-feature-updates-users Because they was breaking peoples PCs https://www.howtogeek.com/298940/microsoft-please-stop-breaking-my-pc-with-windows-10s-automatic-updates/ Witch was just a lie they just delay the updates longer still they going force you to update or blacklist your cpu . Windows 10 users don't have control over updates they never did. The was some unofficial ways of controlling it , i use to use but it got to be too much of a hassle for me, so i just removed Windows 10 and the problem was solved , It's gonna crash; already has the blue screen of death In Linux land If you buy new hardware you go for the latest, for old hardware stick to LTS. On Windows people on LTSB that did not pay a fortune for enterprise are just pirates because Microsoft don't give LTSB to consumers so you can't legally use it unless your a enterprise . Before Windows 10 all versions of windows were 10 years support only required 1 to 3 SP upgrades years latter after release. Windows 7 never got any new features only bug fixes and security updates . XP got 14 years support and only 3 sp in 14 years Windows 10 is only 3 years old and been 8 versions released so far and 2 more in insiders. It's madness!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_10_version_history
