Anybody know a program that will do a boot defrag? I need to get my pagefile out to the edge of my disk, but I can't use that feature with the cracked version of UltimateDefrag that I have. I am running a 64-bit Windows XP system.

I don't defrag that often, maybe once every one-two months and that's if I remember.

I use PerfectDisk and it works great.

Been using "PerfectDisk" since the previous version, around the time also tested DiskKeeper (mature version from XP) and O&O (nice GUI & options), but for needs PD was selected. None of them are perfect, since perfection can be a timely high rated satisfaction. Would love to hear about a File-System doing the job itself, and a smarter solution for Virtual Memory.

I use Diskeeper 2007 Pro Premier.

For me it works the best, everyone has there own flavors obviously but I like this one and how easy it is to use.

For any interested I used O&O Defrag Freeware Edition v3.5 and it took greater than an hour. I had completed a defrag 2 days ago using Diskeeper Lite (took 6 minutes). I did another defrag ~2days later once again ~6minutes using Diskeeper Lite.

O&O Defrag Freeware Edition v3.5 > 1 Hour

Diskeeper Lite v7.xx >6minutes

Try it for your selves.

O&O Defrag 2000 Freeware is the "light" version of O&O Defrag 2000 Professional. It provides the SPACE method to manually defragment your drives. The Freeware Edition is absolutely free to use! Please read our software license agreement for further information!
It's a very old engine in thiz app so u should compare to new diskeeper ;)

I was using diskeeper 10 but he always said that my MTF is too small - even 2GB was to small - when u add thal all windows app + windows as os uses ~5GB, two gigs just because diskeeper keep telling is to small is a little bit annoying ;)

Now I use O&O Pro 10 :(

And also another app from O&O :welcome:

Cheerz :D

I'm very surprised to c how little people use ultimatedefrag... I really think it's way better then all the other because of one simple thing; you can control where you place your files(if you want too). You just place folders like windows, program files, and games to the outer tracks and place big collections of music, movies, photos or documents to the inner tracks.

So ultimatedefrag is the best for me.
