Chromium Microsoft Edge Dev 75.0.139.4 Now Available for Download

Microsoft has released a new Dev version of its new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for Windows 10.

Microsoft has released a new Dev version of its new Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser for Windows 10.

Now at version 75.0.139.4, the latest Microsoft Edge release is based on Chromium 75, but it also includes a couple of additional changes that Microsoft thinks are worth highlighting.

For example, the company says that after installing this new version, Microsoft Edge should no longer crash when viewing a security certificate in F12 developer tools. Furthermore, the latest update fixes a crash that prevented the app from shutting down correctly after it’s launched for the first time.

Needless to say, this Microsoft Edge update also includes all the recent changes that Microsoft tested as part of the Canary build of the browser.

As per Microsoft’s approach, Microsoft Edge Canary is updated every day with new improvements and fixes, while the Dev version receives updates every week.More Edge versions on their wayAt this point, there’s no beta build to download, but Microsoft is expected to share more news about such a release at the upcoming Build developer conference later this month. No ETA for the stable Microsoft Edge browser has been offered either.

The existing preview versions of Microsoft Edge are only available on Windows 10, but it’s believed that the software giant would roll out an early build of the application for macOS as well.

Eventually, Microsoft Edge should technically run on all platforms where Google Chrome is already available, albeit Microsoft hasn’t yet announced a Linux version. However, because Edge becomes a Win32 application on Windows, it would offer support for previous Windows editions as well, including Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

You can download Microsoft Edge Dev from Softpedia, yet it’s important to keep in mind this is an early release and certain bugs might still be encountered every now and then.
