Oracle released the third maintenance update in the latest VirtualBox 6.0 series to address multiple issues and add support for new technologies.

VirtualBox 6.0.6 is now available for all supported platforms with some notable changes and new features, including support for the latest Linux 5.0 kernel series, as well as the upcoming Linux 5.1 kernel, which should see the light of day sometime next month, for both Linux hosts and guest.

It also includes the Oracle Critical Patch Updates for April 2019, improves nested virtualization on AMD CPUs, adds support for QCOW2 version 3, improves IDE PCI emulation, improves VMSVGA emulation and 3D support, fixes issues with the VBoxSVGA and WDDM drivers, and improves loading of saved states for LsiLogic devices.User interface improvements, other bug fixesVirtualBox 6.0.6 is also packed with some user interface improvements that fix various issues reported by users when copying folders or other content, when deleting snapshots, as well as with unattended installation of recent Ubuntu Linux guests. Several other refinements were also implemented to the user interface.

For Linux users, besides support for the Linux 5.0 and 5.1 kernels, this release improves the performance and reliability of the shared folders feature, the support for the long-term supported Linux 4.4.169 kernel, building of Linux host drivers on Secure Boot systems, and the logging mechanism when building the Linux kernel modules.

Of course, there are several other smaller improvements to graphics and storage, along with a compilation fix for the LibreSSL library. We recommend updating your VirtualBox installations as soon as possible, and you can download VirtualBox 6.0.6 for GNU/LinuxmacOS, and Windows right now form our free software portal. The full changelog is attached below if you want to know what exactly was fixed in this maintenance release.

I have an ongoing issue with version 6 of Virtualbox: drag and drop has stopped working when I have Windows 10 as my host OS and any Windows as a guest with guest additions 6.0.6 installed.

I have installed on multiple machines with the same issue.

This breaks it as a solution for me as it should "just work."

And I have also discovered that shared folders has an issue where copying files can result in some files NOT being copied, in both directions.

Deal breaker.

OK, discovered something else now: I installed guest additions 5.2.22 in the guest OS's and drag and drop started working again.

It looks like the issue is the guest additions.
