Microsoft Says the Biggest Windows 10 May 2019 Update Bug Not Fully Fixed Yet 

Microsoft is still working on fixing the biggest bug in Windows 10 May 2019 Update which causes fatal crashes on a number of devices.

An issue that the company acknowledged earlier this year can generate a Blue Screen of Death when users launch games with certain anti-cheating software.

The bug exists in all Windows 10 preview builds, including in the 19H1 update, also known as May 2019 Update, and Microsoft says that while it worked together with several developers to resolve the problem, others are yet to deliver patches.More fixes in the coming weeksIn the release notes of the latest Windows 10 20H1 preview build, Dona Sarkar, the head of the Windows Insider program, says Microsoft is making progress in its work on fixing the issue, but a full fix isn’t available just yet.

“There has been an issue with older versions of anti-cheat software used with games where after updating to the latest 19H1 Insider Preview builds may cause PCs to experience crashes. We are working with partners on getting their software updated with a fix, and most games have released patches to prevent PCs from experiencing this issue,” Sarkar noted.

“To minimize the chance of running into this issue, please make sure you are running the latest version of your games before attempting to update the operating system. We are also working with anti-cheat and game developers to resolve similar issues that may arise with the 20H1 Insider Preview builds, and will work to minimize the likelihood of these issues in the future.”

Windows 10 May 2019 Update is currently available for insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings, and Microsoft says it will release several cumulative updates in the coming weeks to resolve last-minute issues like this one causing BSODs. The public rollout should kick off in late May.

I updated to 1903 Build 18362.53 and have had no problems. Everything smooth, fast and stable.

The Windows Sandbox is very handy.
