Microsoft has released the very first update for the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser in the Canary development channel.

Now at version 75.0.124.0, Microsoft Edge Canary is set to receive daily updates, but this is particularly important because it’s the first in a longer series that should help refine the browser.

Since it’s a daily build, Microsoft doesn’t provide a changelog, albeit several important changes can already be noticed versus the original Canary version.

For example, the Picture-in-Picture mode that Microsoft Edge browser now comes with also features a mute button. This is an update that Google Chrome Canary also received, so sooner or later, all Chromium-based browser should get the same update.

Additionally, it looks like the Canary update also includes further dark theme improvements. Microsoft Edge already comes with a dark mode, but it’s disabled by default. After installing the update, however, the flags screen also respects the dark theme when the dark mode overall is enabled.Exclusive support for Windows 10Microsoft Edge, which is now based on Chromium, is available as part of Developer and Canary channels. The Dev build is updated every week, as per Microsoft’s schedule, while the Canary version gets improvements every day.

There’s no beta version just yet, but Microsoft says that it’s working to make this available as soon as possible. Additionally, the existing Microsoft Edge builds only run on Windows 10, and the software giant explains that support for other platforms, including macOS and older Windows, would be announced soon.

To check out the version of your Microsoft Edge browser, launch the application and head over to Settings > About Microsoft Edge. Further updates should follow in the coming days, so if you run the Canary build, make sure you install them on a regular basis to try out the latest improvements.

I don't have no more any Windows 7, but just yesterday was told, that mostly works, only some features related to videos doesn't work.

Try  and everything is clear.

But now is already 75.0.125.0 Canary available, there may be something changed.
