Microsoft Fully Embraces Siri Shortcuts on iOS with OneDrive Update

Microsoft has released a new update for the iOS version of its OneDrive client, and this time the changelog includes several welcome improvements.

Microsoft has released a new update for the iOS version of its OneDrive client, and this time the changelog includes several welcome improvements.

First and foremost, it’s worth knowing that this update brings OneDrive to version 10.60 on both iPhone and iPad, and it includes support for Siri Shortcuts.

In other words, you can now ask Siri to perform a series of tasks in OneDrive, which obviously comes in handy when you want to access the app without even touching the iPhone.

For example, the digital assistant can scan a whiteboard, a business card, or a document, and everything takes place instantly. All you have to do is enable OneDrive shortcuts by heading over to Settings > Siri & Search on your iPhone.iMessage fixes also includedAdditionally, Microsoft is also implementing a change for business users, as it’s renaming the Sites view to Libraries. All features are there, so the only thing that’s changing is the name.

For iMessage users, there are new fixes for icons, which Microsoft says looked awkward within the app.

“We’ve fixed an issue in the iMessage app where our icons were showing up pixelated. Thanks to the keen eye of our TestFlight user Nikolaj, we’ve fixed this issue and our iMessage icons are now clear as day. A non-Seattle day, that is,” the company explains.

And last but not least, the OneDrive update also includes refinements for the VoiceOver experience in the Shared page, “and it will now behave a little more human, and a little more accessibly.” Other changes might also be included under the hood, so the app overall should also run smoother.

You can download the new OneDrive version from the App Storehere. It requires at least iOS 11.3, and it is compatible with iPhone, Pad, and iPod touch.
