Microsoft keeps improving the dark mode in Windows 10, and the upcoming feature update coming to users next month will include further refinements in this regard.

Microsoft engineer Jen Gentleman revealed on Twitter that the Windows Console is getting a dark mode as well in order to perfectly align with the look of the operating system.

As you can see in the screenshot here, the Windows Console now has a completely black interface, with the title bar itself also painted in black.

You can also configure Windows 10 to use colored title bars, which means that the Console title bar matches your Windows accent color, and this makes it easier to notice when the window is in focus.

Of course, this isn’t really a major UI update for Windows 10 users, but it’s a refinement that certainly comes in handy and which add an extra modern touch to the overall experience in the OS.More UI improvements likely on their wayWindows 10 April 2019 Update, also known as version 1903 and codenamed 19H1, will include a light theme as well in addition to the dark mode already available in production builds. Microsoft has redesigned several icons in Windows 10 to adapt to the light theme, and users will finally get the chance to try it out with the release planned for April 2019.

At this point, it’s pretty clear that Microsoft is betting big on refining the little details in Windows 10, and this is without a doubt the correct approach given that users love this kind of improvements.

But at the same time, Microsoft should also accelerate the pace of rolling out Fluent Design improvements. The Windows Console, for instance, doesn’t yet feature any of the Fluent Design elements, like the acrylic effect, but expect more goodies in this regard in the coming OS updates.
