Microsoft has just launched a new video series called Microsoft Unboxed and whose purpose is to provide users with a rare look at what’s happening behind the scenes when engineers start working on a new product.

Basically, with this new project, what the software giant plans to do is to offer users across the world a way to take a peek at how everything comes to be in the Microsoft world, while at the same time presenting the people that power the new tech.

The first series was posted yesterday, and Microsoft says new videos will be published every Thursday to discuss other products.

“Microsoft Unboxed is a new weekly YouTube series from Microsoft, hosted by Sonia Dara and Colleen O’Brien. We’ll look at Microsoft’s latest technology, and the people and stories behind the tech. Tune in every Thursday at 9AM PT for new episodes,” it says.First video liveThe first video introduces users to the story behind Microsoft’s AI for Good initiatives and you can watch it embedded below.

“In the first episode of our new YouTube series, Microsoft Unboxed, Sonia Dara and Colleen O’Brien go “behind the tech” to explore Microsoft’s AI for Good initiatives, unpacking AI for Accessibility and AI for Humanitarian Action. Hear the stories of the unique organizations and partners making an impact within these initiatives on this episode of Microsoft Unboxed,” Microsoft says.

While this is a great way for Microsoft fans and customers from all over the world to get a glimpse into what’s happening behind the company’s closed doors, it remains to be seen if topics like Windows and Surface would be tackled.

If they are, expect Microsoft Unboxed to become a very successful YouTube series given how large the fanbases of these products currently are. The first video has approximately 8,000 views after 24 hours since it was published.
