steven36
Actress and director Penny Marshall died Monday night at the age of 75. According to publicist Michelle Bega, Marshall died “peacefully” in her Hollywood Hills home from diabetes complications. Marshall became well known for her beloved role in the Laverne & Shirley sitcom, which ran from 1976 until 1983. She went on to direct several hit moves, including Big and A League of Their Own. “Our family is heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall,” her family said in a statement. “Penny was a tomboy who loved sports, doing puzzles of any kind, drinking milk and Pepsi together and being with her family.” The New York Daily News reports that the family plans to hold a “celebration of her life” at a later date. Marshall is survived by her sister Ronny, her daughter and three grandkids. Source
