Microsoft launches AI-powered Hummingbird news app on the Play Store

Recommended Posts

Microsoft has released a news app today that's powered by artificial intelligence to provide content that it deems important to you.

According to its Play Store listing description, Hummingbird learns your search history over time in order to improve how it curates stories from a wide range of sources. To get started with the app, you need to sign up using your Microsoft or LinkedIn account. There's an option to skip that process, though it may affect how the app tailors the content feed for you.

Once set up, you may then proceed to create your personalized "Mix", which is basically a selection of topics of interest to you. You'll have the option as well to save, share, or block all content from a specific source from which you don't wish to receive news content. The app includes two other tabs: "Search" for a more general list of topics and "Me" for your personalized feed, saved articles, and history.

Like most other news apps already available, Hummingbird opens a news article on its original website, with options to modify the font style, background color, and text size. You may also copy the content's URL.

The app seems to be limited currently to the U.S., though it's also available to download from APK Mirror for those living in other countries.
