Radio host Stephen Nolan's BBC Radio Ulster morning show is known for its fiery discussion, but the Northern Ireland presenter's BBC Radio 5 Live show has managed to put a caller to sleep.

Nolan was having a discussion with writer and presenter Dotun Adebayo about Christmas on Friday night's show when he realised a caller had been waiting on the line for 35 minutes.

The caller 'Joey in Bournemouth' had wanted to take part in the show's Brexit discussion.

Mr Nolan said that they believed he was asleep because the team could hear snoring on the line.

He then increased the volume on the call and put the caller on air, where loud snoring could be heard.

The popular host blamed Mr Adebayo for putting the caller to sleep, noting he had been "wide awake" before he came on the show.

Mr Nolan asked the caller for his views on Brexit, but did not receive a reply.

Protesting Mr Nolan said that he thought it had been "the best Nolan 5 Live show in years".
