YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - A man living at house on W. Judson Avenue "pistol-whipped" a burglar with the burglar's gun, according to a police report.

Police were called to the house around 10:30 p.m. Friday and found a man with a minor injury to his finger.

He told police that he was getting a bottle of water out of his car and was heading back into his house when a man came up behind him and pointed a gun at him.

He told police that he wrestled with the man and managed to get the gun, which discharged a few times, according to the report. Police said the man told officers he then hit the burglar with the gun, and the burglar ran away.

Officers took the loaded 9 mm handgun as evidence. Two spent shell casings and a hat were also found by the doorway where the struggle took place, police said.

Police are investigating.
