nir
New cumulative update shipped to Windows insiders Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 cumulative update for insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings that are running version 1809. Windows 10 cumulative update KB4464455 is supposed to help Microsoft fix several important issues in the October 2018 Update before the public rollout resumes. The update increases the OS build number to 17763.104, and it resolves the file overwrite bug that made the rounds lately. Users who installed Windows 10 October 2018 Update during the few days of availability discovered that a file overwrite warning was missing when copying files from ZIP archives to folders where files with the same name already existed. This caused the data to be overwritten, technically leading to loss of information without any prior warning from Windows 10. Microsoft says this behavior has been fixed in this cumulative update. Additionally, Microsoft says cumulative update KB4464455 resolves an issue causing roaming profiles to not work correctly. The October update saga Windows 10 October 2018 Update was released on October 2, but got pulled only a few days later after Microsoft discovered a data removal bug deleting files stored in user libraries. In the meantime, the company released a fix to insiders in the Slow and Release Preview rings, along with other improvements that landed in cumulative updates exclusively aimed at these users. As for the public rollout, no ETA has been provided, but it’s believed the rollout could resume as soon as today in order for Microsoft to stick with its October release target. However, it’s worth noting that in the meantime, users have reported several other important bugs in this update, so while Microsoft already corrected the most critical ones, there’s still a lot to fix before the October update offers a truly flawless experience. Users who are part of the two rings in the Windows Insider program can download today’s cumulative update from Windows Update. Source
