Just using Windows Defender seems to be good enough outside of some "User dependant" results. So what they are saying, is if a specific setting is changed, it would have ranked up right next to Bitdefender, Avira, etc. Seems a bit unfair imo - to just use default settings for every AV to test with, given the fact that they all have different default settings. It has some performance impact but if read performance test results thoroughly, you see that Windows Defender haven't any performance issue in browsing and using web at all.
