Hence, please refrain from updating CCleaner until further notice from CCleaner Announcement. The main reason for suspicion is no changelog, only pro installer updated. InsaneAl Posted July 6, 2018 Share Posted July 6, 2018 And worryingly enough, comparing the file sizes reveals that in this so called build 6577 (Free, Tech, Pro, Business), both exe's (x32 & x64) are exactly the same size and date as those in build 6575.. That build number - 5.44.162.6577 also seems no-sequential. I unpacked them, all editions, that I downloaded from other sites, but still under the same new build number.. I tried so many times to download these 3 by entering many different combinations of version number, EXCEPT the right one - hahahaha nearest I got was "5.44".. I should have realized there usually is NO "." in the required numbers... Oh, yes these have 544.164.6577 in version/build number too... Cheers... debebee Posted July 8, 2018 Share Posted July 8, 2018 Installer's note if you are using the LATEST CCLEANER WITH cracked/keygnned, - the command line /auto does not work... - You get random agents - A few errror on the recycle bin right click functionality But if you go 2 major versions back to 542 everything works even to the registration processs.. InsaneAl Posted July 8, 2018 Share Posted July 8, 2018 When I'm online and "need" to use CCleaner (sometimes it's absolutely necessary to), I only use the free portable version, but since v5.44.6575 I have noticed the appearance of an advert or two when it's started online,, fine offline,, just online where it happens. Watching the data flow in and out of my PC shows this.. I have therefore gone back to v5.43.6522 "ad free" portable for online use. Offline, I use the latest Technician version.. I think this is because AVAST (or whatever company acquired it) messed up the code when they handed it over the customers REASONS why NEWER VERSIONS aren't the always better: 1: NEW REGISTRATION .. Obviously Major Versions have newer registration schemes.. MEDS break down forcing you to use the newer app on trial mode (Ask any Deep Freeze EZCD Audio Coverrter or Take Command fanatic) Worst they change their schemes to only work with exclusive ONLINE REGISTRATION mode. 2. BLOAT.. It is never good If an app that was a few hundred MB suddenly bloats to 10x to 1000x its original size.. SSD storage is expensive even at todays prices.. 3. BUGS, BUGS, BUGS.
