Microsoft To-Do to get support for shared lists in June

Earlier this month, we reported that Microsoft To-Do had received an update introducing a number of new features, including support for subtasks. The feature brought To-Do closer to the functionality of Wunderlist, which Microsoft acquired in 2015 and has stopped supporting since.

 

Now, the company has announced it's bringing more features from Wunderlist into its new To-Do service. Starting in early June, an update will be rolling out to all versions of the app including a new shared lists feature.

 

Much like it did in Wunderlist, this will allow users to share a list of items with anyone so that two or more people can collaborate on a set of tasks. The sharing mechanism is simple: the user creates a share link to be sent to anyone who needs it. Once the project is finished, users are free to stop sharing and revoke the link.

Microsoft released the To-Do app over a year ago, and while it included Office 365 integration, the new offering still hasn't caught up with Wunderlist in a number of ways. Cortana still connects to Wunderlist to manage to-do lists, as does Microsoft Launcher, which - despite the numerous updates in recent weeks - still doesn't support the company's newer service.
