If you look MRG Effitas Q1-2018 test, best suites are stopping  trojans but ransomwares, financial malwares and PUAs as well. MRG Effitas tested 18 antivirus suites using 337 active "In the Wild" samples, among them: trojans (177), backdoor trojans (65), financial malware (67), cryptographers (16) and others (12). Avira, Bitdefender, F-Secure, Kaspersky, Symantec, Avast, AVG, Panda, Microsoft Defender, ThreatTrack and even Eset did their job very well. Malwarebytes and Trend Micro are definitely bad suites, and Webroot and McAfee should also be better.
