Administrator DKT27 Posted May 7, 2018 Administrator Share Posted May 7, 2018 Evorim Free Firewall is new to me. Seems that it was been in making only from couple of years. Worth looking into I think.
p4psb
I have been using it form the early days when it was first released. It is very easy to use and configure. I cannot recommend it highly enough, maybe it should be a front page software.

We have been thinking about a need to have one or more such softwares on FP here.

It will receive fixes for critical bugs but new features will not be implemented anymore in WFC. New features will be part of the new product on which I will start working from July. It works on Windows 10? i tried free firewall straycat19 but it didn’t seem to keep programs from phoneing home that good. On 06/05/2018 at 6:50 PM, spudboy said: As has been stated, that's nonsense. Well, only bug fix… I may be pessimistic but I think it will be like all the other firewalls: he’ll continue to fix issues at start then the company who bought it will complain not having enough customers since the current WFC is enough for too many then will force the development to stop. Parts of WFC will be integrated in a different security product in the near future and I will be involved in the development. Currently, WFC development is discontinued until a decision will be made by the new owner. It is not possible anymore to become a registered user, therefore the donations button was removed from the website. The existing registered users will be still able to log in into their accounts and activate WFC. Thank you for your support over the years. As a User of Windows Firewall Control (WFC) I'm not at all concerned about its future — it's evident that the development is sure to continue. Not personally picky either, about who has acquired Windows Firewall Control (WFC) and also whether Alex would be a part of that formula or not. However, as someone who takes his firewalling pretty seriously and goes to great technical lengths and depths into this dark art, there sure is something that has been bothering me — a closer look at the 11 words highlighted on my quote could be interpreted by Techies as . . . . . . . . . Windows Firewall Control (WFC) has been earmarked to be re-branded as a security suite. If it was a friggin' security suite that was to be my destiny's child, I'd have opted for the most effective firewall on Earth . . . . . COMODO — yes, it's a resource hog (but, that's exactly why so many of us chose Windows Firewall Control (WFC) in the first place. Hope I'm wrong about my security suite interpretation — standalones are a dying breed (fingers and toes crossed.)
I Am Negan
Fuck a security suite. That’s why I switch from Comodo to WFC.I have a friggin antivirus so I don’t want no damn security suite.
I Am Negan
I contacted the developer and told him what a bunch of crap that would be. LOL I did it nicely though.
dcs18
On the brighter side, we can continue to use the last version (5.3.1.0) of Windows Firewall Control (WFC) for a long time to come since it's just a front-end (not the actual firewall) and is already future-ready with all essential features . . . . . and much more. The actual component that needs to be in active development is the native Microsoft Windows Firewall — and, this module is patched regularly during Windows Update. dcs18
Oh yes, sure — this is what I was talking about (check out the following example of selective blocking of multiple IPs within a single rule; on allowed program, Firefox):— On 5/6/2018 at 11:28 AM, dcs18 said: Personally, when I hunt for a firewall, my own requirements are as follows:— The policy of block-selected-IPs-of-allowed-programs should be available The facility of entering all the IPs within one single rule should be available
