nsane.forums
E-commerce giant Amazon has begun selling its own-label technology gear through its online store in the US. The "Amazon Basics" line should be comparatively cheap, but actually most of it costs about the same as what's sold on the high street, and has the extra problem of users not being able to check the quality before buying. The $5.41 price for a digital cable is not too bad, but it is possible to find less expensive HDMI kit than is advertised on the site. More likely to be affected are Amazon's own partners, who will be trying to flog the same sorts of equipment through the site. But as one explained, " If you can't match Amazon you should really not be here." The own-label goods are currently only available in the US, with other countries including the UK set to follow soon.
