Iranian protesters unveil countdown showing 8,411 days 'to the destruction of Israel'

Speaker of Iranian Parliament calls Israel the 'mother of terrorism'

Anti-Israel protesters in Iran unveiled a digital countdown showing 8,411 days to what they said would be the "destruction of Israel", as part of an annual rally in support of the Palestinian Territories.

The time frame appears to stem from comments made in 2015 by Iran's supreme leader, the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said there would be "nothing" left of Israel by the year 2040.

Demonstrators chanted “death to Israel” as crowds assembled on Friday for Al-Quds day (Arabic for Jerusalem), while people touted placards condemning Israel, Saudi Arabia and the US. The Revolutionary Guard took the opportunity to display its ballistic missiles, including the type which was used in Syria where the government claimed it killed a "large number of terrorists,” although agencies could not verify the report.

The display was in Tehran's Palestine Square, and state media claimed that more than one million people participated in the demonstrations.

Similar protests popped up across Iran, with protesters condemning Israeli’s occupation of Palestinian territories and burning the Israeli and American flags.

President Hassan Rouhani and Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani were amongst the officials who attended the demonstration.

In a speech to marching people who were going to Friday prayers at the Tehran University grounds, Iranian Tasnim News Agency reports Mr Larijani said: “Israel is the most malignant terrorist in history.

“[Israel is the] mother of terrorism,” he added.

Iran is fiercely critical of the country, consistently engaging in highly hostile rhetoric about Israel's right to exist. President Rouhani told the IRNA news agency that Israel supports “terrorists in the region.”

Tensions between Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shia Iran have intensified as of late, in part due to theological disagreements, as well as Donald Trump's increasing support of the former, and condemnation of the latter.

Last month Saudi’s King Salman called Iran the “spearhead of global terrorism.”

I don't want Iran to have the means to do so, but I sure as hell won't miss Israel, and they'll deserve it.

I don't know if the West can afford to wait that long though. Jewish policies have us projected to become minorities in our own homelands around that time.

Let's send all of the refugees to Israel. They need to experience the diversity they tell us is "our strength" for themselves.

July 24th, 2021 is a much better date.

Bonus points if you can figure out why I picked that date.

Israeli Warplanes Strike Hamas Targets in Gaza After Rocket Fire

Two Hamas positions targeted, IDF says, after rocket explodes in southern Israeli community ■ Palestinian official: No casualties caused

The Israel Air Force struck in the Gaza Strip early Tuesday morning after a rocket launched from Gaza exploded in Israeli territory the previous evening.

Israeli warplanes targeted two Hamas positions, the Israeli army said in a statement. No injuries were reported and rescue teams were dispatched to the targeted places, said Ashraf al-Qedra, a Gaza Health Ministry spokesman.

According to the IDF, the Islamic Jihad organization is responsible for the rocket fire. The incident is relatively unusual, considering the rocket's range. No damage or casualties were caused by the rocket, which struck at the Isareli community of Sha'ar Hanegev.

Israel's border with the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip has been mostly quiet over recent months. Last March, a rocket fired from Gaza struck an open area in Israeli territory, causing no injuries. Israel responded with aircraft and artillery fire, targeting Hamas positions in northern Gaza.

The Israeli army's policy is to respond "disproportionately" to rocket fire toward Israel's border from Gaza, the IDF chief of staff told a parliamentary panel at the time.

"The IDF employs a policy of using aggressive, and disproportionate, force in order to prevent situations in which they fire rockets at us and we return shells," Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot  told the State Control Committee. "For us, there is one address in the Strip: Hamas."

The chief of staff elaborated that Israel does not "attack sand dunes or empty storehouses. Every rocket or shell we fired was toward a target of value. [Such as] manufacturing means," Eisenkot said. "Hundreds of targets have been attacked since Operation Protective Edge," he added, referring to the Israeli campaign against Gaza in the summer of 2014.

Have you lost your mind? is supporting good and fighting bad racism to you?

zionist regime is a Fake regime. No history, No land, Nothing. these idiots were scattered around the world in different countries and now gathered in some place and call it their country. how they made it? by taking over others' lands.

that's why they support ISIS, because ISIS destroys ancient and historic places in Syria, Iraq and anywhere else. like Palmyra. these fucking zionists want to show that their neighboring countries have no history as well and they are all the same. they wanna fake everything. that's why when we kill the ISIS terrorists they take them in and heal them in their hospitals.

how do you feel when you go out to work on your farm and at night when you come back some zionists kill your family, wife and children, then burn your house and tell you to leave there, and 1 minute later a zionist family comes and builds home upon your land.

unfortunately your fucked up news don't tell you these, just keeps you in stupidity. you call it racism and that's how you justify your lack of balls for supporting Palestinians and instead post about those childkillers keep killing people?

It seems you guys have decided that international politics is all that can be discussed and be an agenda here on the forums. Guess what, that is incorrect.

People need to understand, there is a lot happening in the world that can make best of friends real enemies as everyone has different views and opinions on things, which get magnified further when it comes to politics, especially when it directly or indirectly concerns someone. Let me give you an example, I can myself post a few news everyday related to my neighborhood countries disputes, some border related, some big time terrorism related, just to remind you guys that there are not just 2-3 countries in the world, there are far many of them with a lot of them having disputes between them. So what happens when these type of news are posted. All it does is to divide members, cause hatred among each other, make enemies out of potential friends and last but not the least, make everyone forget that this is a software / technology forum with members from all corners of the world, not a international political site.

At the same time, I would request news posters to show some more understanding and responsibility, anything which does not really offer to the area of interest of the forums or can cause hatred among members should be avoided to be posted.
