World's 2nd Fastest Torpedo - Hoot (Supercavitating)

The Hoot (Persian: Whale) is an Iranian supercavitation torpedo claimed to travel at approximately 360 km/h (220 mph), several times faster than a conventional torpedo. It was claimed to have been successfully test-fired from a surface ship against a dummy submarine during the Iranian military exercise "Great Prophet"  on 2 April 2006 and 3 April 2006. Iran test-fired the torpedo within its territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz in May 2017.

The Hoot torpedo is still in the testing phase, the officials report, but once it is fully operational it should be able to travel about 12,000 yards (approximately six nautical miles) at a speed of about 200 knots per hour (approximately 250 miles per hour).

The world's fastest torpedo is Shkval travelling at 370Km/h which makes Hoot torpedo the world's 2nd fastest torpedo travelling at 360KM/h. (future upgrades pending)

Its good to see Iran is striving forward with new technology, but its really difficult to beat the Russians in this sector.

Really?... If warnings are truly given then they are not the least effective because this nonsense just keeps going on. And just like the old shout box the problem usually arises from the same people...
