Zoli
The world’s most powerful defrag software (and only hard drive optimizer) is about to get a whole lot more powerful with the new UltimateDefrag Version 3.Over a year in development, UltimateDefrag Version 3 adds a whole new level of power and flexibility for optimal file placement for maximum hard drive file access performance for Windows based operating systems including XP, Vista, Server 2008 and the upcoming Windows 7.We’ve taken a lot of user feedback into consideration as well as implemented new technologies and great new ideas to make this the most powerful and “Ultimate” of all defraggers in terms of the features and functionality that users want.Let’s take a look at just some of these new features with the caveat that some of these features may change slightly or function differently on the release version. Some of these features include:Newly designed easy to use graphical user interface using standard Windows controls. You’ll find the new user interface more familiar as we revert to standard Windows GUI interface but with much greater ease of navigating between options and functions. You have the option for floating and docked windows and the entire window, including disk display is fully scalable. You will also be able to change skins (premade color themes).Comprehensive True File Usage AnalysisUltimateDefrag now monitors your file usage and automatically keeps a moving average database of how often every file on your hard drive is used and how often each file fragments and to what degree. This database truly establishes your most and least frequently used files to optimize your hard drive. Please note that this feature does NOT run as a service. UltimateDefrag still runs as an on-demand product and not as a service.Defrag "Simulation!"The Defrag Simulation feature is another world first. Since UltimateDefrag can do quite a lot of re-arranging of your hard drive wouldn’t it be nice to know what it’s going to do and what your file layout will look like when it is done? Well now you can by turning on simulation mode. The program will simulate your defrag with animation without writing any changes to the hard drive and you’ll see just what your drive will look like when your defrag run is complete if you were to run the defrag with your current settings. Drag and Drop Specific Files To A Permanent Location On Your Hard DriveYou can now place and leave specific files at a specific position on your hard drive using simple drag and drop. A good example of the use of this feature would be a large file such as a large outlook.pst file. Outlook.pst files are subject to fragmentation since they generally grow on a day to day basis and if they are large they can leave part of their file in gaps all around your hard drive. To defrag that file, the entire file may need to be moved to a new location each time you defrag. In a perfect world you would be able to place that file in a specific place in a free space area of your hard drive - a permanent home, so to speak. On each defrag pass that file would stay in position but if fragmented then it would defrag in place and usually very fast since it just needs to regroup all the newly created fragments as the file grows and add them to the non fragmented parts of the file. You now have that perfect world thanks to this new feature.Multiple Ways To Sort High Performance and Archive FilesIn previous versions there were limited ways in which you could sort HP and Archive files. In version 3 you can now sort these files via a variety of methods including ways to place HP and Archive much faster than ever before. Technology To Minimize Rate Of RefragmentationIn our other product DefragExpress – aptly dubbed the world’s fastest defragger, we created defrag techniques to give you fastest defrags possible and to minimize the rate of fragmentation. We’ve incorporated these techniques as an option in UltimateDefrag Version 3. So if you want the fastest defrag possible with slowest rate of fragmentation formation, you can do that too.More File Exclusion OptionsYou can exclude files that you don’t want to move or defrag via many more options including size, folder and filename. And A Whole Lot More….These are just some of the features of UltimateDefrag Version 3 that we know you’ll look forward to and there are a whole lot more that we’ll let you know about as the release date approaches.Note that UltimateDefrag V3 will be fully compatible with the new highly anticipated Windows 7 operating system from Microsoft and it will be fully backward compatible with all previous versions from and including XP. So when will UltimateDefrag Version 3 be released? We’re just putting the finishing touches to this new version and we expect to release in November 2009. HX1
Oh this is GOOD news.. Liking the new features to come about. I remember System Booster from used to monitor file activity but you had to have it running.. I still have a portable version somewhere..Skinning is a nice option.. It will integrate a little better too, especially with mine..Can't wait!

HX1
I would say its the BEST defrag soft I have ever used, and the fastest.. IMO.. period..trial it if you can..One you get the first two long steps out of the way, its all over.. little fragmented files maintenance and go..You just have to use it.. that is all.. Get your head wrapped around the idea..

info-gela
Hope this time they can make a keygen to fix... =D
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 4, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 4, 2009 No problem. I think our site's crackers are in full force if the other people don't do it.
info-gela
Yeah, I'm sure of that, but sometimes they don't create a keygen and create a patch or crack, those last I don't use anytime because I think it can "change" the software, that's way I use only keygens. =D
Administrator DKT27 Posted September 4, 2009 Administrator Share Posted September 4, 2009 Yea you are right but I also heard box or tonyblair complainin of ill effects of a keygen. Don't remember it properly but it was somethin like that. Well I would say keep a workin serial for all, that is enough if they don't blacklist it. ;)
HX1
Well a keygen can also put files in your folders you don't want.. like little trojans, and can make changes to your registry while they are activating..I don't think it is necessarily the type of fix but more of a thing where its what the people do with the opportunity...Probability over time becomes one that such a decision can be made to steer clear of certain things, why for a while I always believed that software companies themselves would create malicious files..to try to combat the mentality that it was okay, to crack or change software.. LOL.. The perception being criminal, element or combative..Especially the ones that actually kill the software and attempt to kill your machine as well. Then I just realized its not that complicated.. and yeah not everyone is the same..
Patrick
^ you forgot those keygens that add entries to the HOSTS file, if they are not set to read only.I think i'll try this software since it's getting a good feedback from alot of people here. info-gela
But those are infected keygens, everytime I use a keygen I always send it to be analyzed by Kaspersky.
HX1
Right and then every keygen that is packaged incorrectly.. written loosely, or queries some aspect, even some that patch files..are picked up...Besides one aspects that some people don't realize is the calling home of just about every application out there...You can block it with your firewall...but there are was to use svchost.exe to get out. and services.exe.. so things have to be blocked or it has to be turned off or altered. Or you have to replace the main EXE with a registered one..which in some cases is dropped from an installer/cab file after proper registration..rare.. but yeah.. something like that..The only way to really know how bad a keygen/patcher is to run it, and monitor EVERYTHING. Then shred or archive like a rt hiding his last bit of cheese on a very cold day..

shought
Keygens are generally safe to know when you got them from a verified source ;)But let's not hijack this discussion, it's all about UltimateDefrag 3 guys.I must say I was really surprised with how great their BootDefrag worked so I hope I'll be amazed with this version yet again, maybe it'll be so good and so user-friendly that I won't even have to write a guide :P
HX1
I know I was actually afraid of this at first when it started moving everything, I had EXCELLENT results using this on the Vista installation I did.. Works well for my XP installation as well..... and sorry for going off topic.. probably happens more than even I would like it to. ( and I am usually involved )
