Thread moved to Software Chat.

There are two ways to do it. Please mention the OS of both the computers there.

For wifi try this tool , tested and very fast , it doesn't matter both of your pc's are on same wifi network :) and you can send your file to many at a time :) any place anytime

At all there are more than a lot of options.
Simpler:

  • use the HomeGroup or
  • Local Network
  • or use a local independent server that is available completely free of charge

Here is one, but in fact there is many similar local servers

Xlight FTP Server 3.8.8.5 - homepage: http://www.xlightftpd.com/

Just tested today, works well.

- create new folders for ex. `T`  on each PC  and  share these folders with everyone on your local network and you`re good to go !

(pictures above can illustrate what I suggested)

Future proof yourself.  Invest a little money in a Drobo 5N2 NAS (or the older 5N which is on sale) and be able to access your data from anywhere on any device.  The one I have has Android, MAC, and Windows software, Movies, Music, Data and literally anything you can think of that you might need to be able to securely access from anywhere.  It is the ultimate secure shared data experience.

With the exact this method I share files between my laptop and PC-s (desktops) in my home .

The method is ok for you - you are connected to the same router with your PC-s , in a local network , so you are sharing files only with everyone who is connected local (wired) or thru WiFi on this network .

You don`t have to modify nothing in your KIS2017 .

I can't access from another computer. The server is running and I've created a user.

Is there another configuration that I need to do?

At first test it so that do not make any changes in settings, ie use default settings. Only make one user (username, password if You want) and nothing else.
It is important - use Your IP address, not local or etc, like there is 0.0.0.0 etc.
Try, if everything works, You can make changes one by one.
Try, if You see my local server and is also possible something to download.
Pasword and username are in You PM box
Open this (recommended to use Chrome, Chromium; Firefox, Opera, etc. IE works also, but there are some things a bit different).

ftp://192.168.1.108/

@PafoH: If HG is not working for you, then the second best method is to enable file sharing on your computer. This page gives good instructions on how to do it. How to access you might ask, on the Quick Access on the left of explorer, click on Network, there you will see your other computer. Also, make sure both the computers have same workgroup name and such.

If it's still not working for you, then run this in Powershell on both the computers:

Quote

Get-SmbServerConfiguration | Select EnableSMB1Protocol, EnableSMB2Protocol

Make sure atleast one of them is enabled on both of them - both should be running the same version.

Interesting this. How is compared to IIS and such.
