Did you try a system restore? If nothing works; did you (also) try it from a new account (profile) & did you (also) try a "Windows Reset Install"? Wow, at least it worked till I rebooted the system. Here what I did: I created a new user account Signed out from my current account and signed in with the new account credentials Wow, the bug had gone away. Start button and the windows' native notification area icons are working fine. I spent almost 15 mins clicking those buttons. What a joy! Then I rebooted and signed in to the same new account that I have created again. The bug returns. My doubt went directly towards the startup items. I have disabled all 3rd party entries using Autoruns and Autoruns64. Rebooted. The bug is still there.
rudrax
Today I ran DISM with /ScanHealth handle and after scanning it shows Seems like the Repair tool suggested by @SPECTRUM has done the job of the DISM utility. So, DISM can't fix the issue.
x3r0
I used to be skeptic about "unknown" this method that has been posted almost everywhere until I tried it myself on my laptop and my friend's. Magically, it worked. Run this with admin privilege in powershell: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”} Apparently Windows 10 has a tendency that everytime a major update is applied, it could f**ked up it's own Store based apps, happened to me as well. I have the graphics driver page from Intel bookmarked and I visit it at least once in a week. Also I have tried older drivers too in case the newer one is somehow incompatible. If that were a video driver issue, how would you explain the highlighted line below? On 28/5/2017 at 1:06 PM, rudrax said: Wow, at least it worked till I rebooted the system. Kalju
The answer is simple, until you have not restarted, Windows uses the original settings. Restart replaces these with changes, what you have made and which are valid for all users.. It is the place, where the dog is buried. Restore default settings and you can enjoy whiskey and cake and also click these buttons... It means, Your computer is OK, but settings not.
